Yes, it is specific to DESDL.

Is this change specific to DESDL? As mentioned, there's already work related to this for non DESDL services, so we'll have to get the two efforts in sync.
If you intend to submit your commit to HPCC, a pull request needs to be created and linked to this ticket.

I had a quick initial implementation (so we can use it for China JV training).

The following ECM attribute is used to specify the authorization tag:

ESPMethod [auth_feature("auth-tag")] myMethod;

It is committed in branch method_level_authentication as:
