ESP Logging to /var/log/messages

Description

Good Afternoon,

Recently i noticed /var/log/messages being populated with esp logs.

I request this practice be changed to either 1) moving to a different unique log inside /var/log or remove /var/log/message logs and remain in /var/log/HPCCSystems/esp/esp.log

The option that controls whether or not these messages go to syslog has been added to configmgr

Assigned to during investigation, as he is working on standardizing the logging.

I believe that certain messages - deemed ones worthy of operator attention - will appear via syslog as well as in the standard esp.log file. This behaviour is by design.

If there are messages that have been miscategorized, we can change them (we are currently undergoing an exercise to make sure all logging output is properly categorized). Do you have an example of the logging you are seeing?
