ESDL ECL fails under Windows

Description

It seems there is a missing file in the client tools install: esdl2ecl.xslt

bin>esdl ecl "C:\Users\Public\Documents\HPCC Systems\ECL\My Files\myMathService\MathService.ecm" "C:\Users\
Public\Documents\HPCC Systems\ECL\My Files\myMathService"
Converting ecm file \Users\Public\Documents\HPCC Systems\ECL\My Files\myMathService\MathService.ecm to XML
Processing ESDL definition: \Users\Public\Documents\HPCC Systems\ECL\My Files\myMathService\MathService.ecm
File C:/Program Files (x86)/HPCCSystems/componentfiles/xslt/esdl2ecl.xslt could not be opened

Conclusion

Verified fixed in private build

It has been decided this issue will be resolved in 5.2.
I have been instructed to utilize relative paths at run-time to determine resource location.

is there an issue with the executable itself or is it with the way the files are packaged for windows?

Lorraine Chapman March 12, 2015 at 1:34 PM

This really should be fixed. I think this is a usability barrier for users and this is going gold for the first time. I want to be able to market its availability with confidence.

It seems that the file(s) are installed, but the executable is looking in the wrong spot. There is an easy workaround:

copy the componentfiles folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\HPCCSystems\5.2.0\clienttools\

to

C:\Program Files (x86)\HPCCSystems
