If you filter on 'Kevin' without stars, ESP should add the stars for you and give you 2 WUs. There is a bug in the code of adding the stars.

If I filter on 'Kevin' I get all WUs back
If i filter on 'Kevin' , I get back only 2 (expected)
So in the first case, it is not matching, so I should get none

On 160 cluster, I just added 2 workunits with 'Kevin' in ECL. I searched WUs using 'Kevin' as ECL filter and it works.

I was able to reproduce on play.hpccsystems.com which is on 7.4.x
