root scope==workunit?

Description

Should "workunit" (or "w" for short) be the root scope?

IOW all the other scopes should have a "w:" prefix - otherwise "workunit" is somewhat special?

Conclusion

None

for the red book. If a statistic or timer previously had a scope of "workunit" in 6.x it will have a scope of "" in 7.x. This may affect code that is processing timings from existing workunits.

note this means that a scope filter of "" is valid. If omitted (or "*") then it will match all.

Conclusion is that the root scope should be blank - "workunit" should not be used.
