As I returned for my third year doing the technology marketing and branding internship at HPCC Systems, I looked to expand my abilities in project management and communications. Project management is something I enjoy doing and having had experience in the past year within this internship working with the Community Day and Technology Summit events, I believe that I can benefit HPCC Systems just as much as I can learn from it. As I graduated in July from a BA in International Development, and will attend a master’s program for development project management and global affairs, having a greater understanding of project management, communication and marketing are highly valuable skills for both academic experience and future careers.

Poster Abstract

For the Tech Summit event, this year I primarily focused on coordinating communication with stakeholders and participants, gathering speaker bios, abstracts and key information to be prepared for uploads, in addition to working directly with the project management team. Furthermore, I continued my work on all social media channels while also handling important aspects of the Tech Summit event. As I have two years of previous experience, with one working directly with the Technology Summit, I was able to refer back to the spreadsheets I created during my past internships which noted all bios, photo collections and abstracts.
