Poster Abstract
We analyze the "U.S. Pollution Data" dataset from Kaggle to identify and visualize pollution rates across U.S. counties. Focusing on NO2 AQI, ozone AQI, SO2 AQI, and carbon monoxide AQI, we assign weights to each pollutant based on their environmental and health impacts to calculate a pollution score for each county. Given the dataset's substantial size, the use of high-performance computing cluster (HPCC) systems is vital for efficiently processing and analyzing the data. These scores are then visualized on a heat map of the United States. Additionally, an interactive Roxie-powered interface allows users to input a county to retrieve detailed AQI values and pollution scores. Our work offers valuable insights into air pollution patterns to inform policy and improve public health.
