Poster Abstract

Introduction:

The rising crime rates call for a revolutionary transformation in the judicial system, and artificial intelligence (AI) integration holds the key to this change. By harnessing advanced big data technologies like HPCC Systems, legal practitioners can efficiently manage and analyze vast quantities of legal data, extracting valuable insights crucial for judicial studies. The incorporation of external knowledge sources, such as WikiData, further improves the cognitive abilities of the system, leveraging it with enhanced understanding and decision-making capabilities.

Objectives:

The goal is to leverage advanced big data technologies, such as HPCC Systems, to effectively manage and analyze vast amounts of legal data. This involves developing robust data processing and analysis capabilities to extract meaningful insights, identify relevant patterns and precedents, and facilitate comprehensive and accurate judicial studies.

Methodology:

Enhancing search terms and extracting keywords from a case or precedent involves leveraging data sources like Wikidata for expanding query terms. To broaden the search scope, Wikidata provides additional information such as synonyms and related concepts. To handle the processing of large datasets, high-performance computing systems (HPCC) are utilized for efficient data analysis and computation. Structural Topic Modelling (STM) is applied to identify topic relationships within the extracted terms, allowing for a deeper understanding of the subject matter. These extracted query words and their associated topics are then classified and built into a semantic network that represents the relationships between them. This approach harnesses the power of data sources, HPCC systems, and semantic analysis techniques to enhance search terms and deliver meaningful insights.
