Poster Abstract

Introduction:

Clean air and safe water are prerequisites for health. Lack of Poor air or water quality can be particularly detrimental to vulnerable populations such as the very young, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. Therefore by visualizing the air quality and water pollution data of different cities in the world aims to provide insights into each cities contribution to the air and water pollution and helps in the development of sustainable environment and mitigation strategies. The main objective of this poster is to visualize the data on the Air quality and water pollution in the world cities by using HPCC Systems® an open-source Big data analytics platform. By doing so, it aims to provide valuable insights into the conditions of each city affected by the air and water pollution which facilitates decision making towards sustainable practices.

Objective:
The main objective of this poster is to visualize the data on the Air quality and water pollution in the world cities by using HPCC Systems® an open-source Big data analytics platform. By doing so, it aims to provide valuable insights into the conditions of each city affected by the air and water pollution which facilitates decision making towards sustainable practices.

Methodology:
The first step involves collecting datasets of world cities air quality and water pollution from reputable sources. Then the datasets are cleansed to eliminate empty values and unnecessary data. Now the air quality and water pollution scores are assigned to each city based on the region and country of each dataset and the air quality and water pollution are measured based on the air quality index and water quality index which gives the score between 0 to 100. By leveraging HPCC Systems Visualization bundle, graphical representations for each score were generated, depicting the air quality and water pollution across different cities in the world. This analysis identifies the cities of each country in the world experiencing air pollution and water pollution which empowers the nation to make well-informed decisions and implement targeted measures aiming sustainable development. Clean air and safe water are prerequisites for health. Lack of Poor air or water quality can be particularly detrimental to vulnerable populations such as the very young, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions.
